- Ameron International
announced the intention to sell the global operations of Ameron
Performance Coatings to PPG. PPG announced that the
intended acquisition of Ameron Performance Coatings will expand
its operations globally in the protective coatings market and
the marine market. According to Ameron Performance
Coatings Group President Stephen F. Dickey, Ameron Performance
Coatings will be known as PPG Protective and Marine Coatings.
Dickey also stated that he expects the sale of Ameron
Performance Coatings to PPG to be complete by July 31, 2006.

- Precision Coatings
announced at the AIA Convention in Los Angeles today that its
acrylic polyurethane formulas including solid colors and
metallics are compliant with the SCAQMD Rule 1113 100 grams per
liter limit for industrial maintenance coatings. Jeff
Pearl of Precision Coatings added that the compliant less than
100 grams per liter VOC products include PC3V100 polyurethane
finishes and DTM3000 polyurethane primer. Pearl noted that
Precision's PC3V100 polyurethane topcoat is available in high
gloss, semi-gloss, satin, egg-shell and matte finish in both
solid colors and metallics and all under 100 grams per liter.
Precision has a proven its PC3V100 polyurethane topcoats with
less than 100 grams per liter through applications in
California, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, Colorado and Texas over

rolls out its rolling formula for metallic applications on a
high rise office tower in Los Angeles. Who said you can't
roll a metallic coatings and have it look presentable...well
just about every coating professional you ever would talk to
until now. Precision Coatings PC3V100 acrylic polyurethane
metallic finish can be roller applied on surfaces that for
environmental reasons cannot be sprayed.
